A Sunny Boutique and Classic Designs Salon are celebrating the opening of a brand new location!
1218 S Military Avenue in Green Bay’s Vernon Court
May 10th to 14th – Refreshments 9:30 AM to close
Everyone is welcome to see the new space! The Grand Opening events and refreshments will be served Tuesday, May 10 to Saturday, May 14th all day, starting when they open at 9:30 AM. Stop by to see the beautiful renovated space. Check out the special sales and enter to win prizes!
The new location combines the two businesses into a larger, integrated space. Jayne and Natalie, mother and daughter, love the extra room and being together. Everything is new and classic except the same long-time customers. Everyone was able to find them as they outgrew their long-time location across the street.
Jayne and the other salon stylists offer hair care and styling services for men and women. Many of them are accepting new clients! Call ahead for an appointment. 920-498-0813
Natalie coordinates the boutique and tanning services. Many of the products compliment the salon and a great day of self-care and pampering. After your new hair du, grab a tan and a new outfit! You will find specialty clothing, essential must-have items, and practical products for you and your home.
You can stop in to shop anytime or call for a tanning appointment and shop during your scheduled time. The boutique and tanning can be reached at the same phone number – 920-498-0813!
As we all work to conform to our new norm of social distancing and “Safer at Home” orders, food is one thing we all still need. Military Avenue is a great location to find food. Take home and make it, or get it to-go, we have many options.
Click on the Business name below to link to their Facebook page. Businesses, restaurants, and the markets are still offering an abundance of food for you! As we all take precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, click their link, call ahead, or drive by to find out the details of service for each business.
This is a list of businesses with food that are open on Military Avenue! 4/20/2020.
Military Avenue Restaurants Open for To-Go Food

The businesses, offices and restaurants on Military Avenue want you to know that they are open for business!
We will continue to offer the great services you have come to expect, just in a new way.
In an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19, we have taken extra measures to clean, practice social distancing, limit the number of people gathering, and still offer you the things you want and need. In fact, we hope that you will continue to shop at our many service, retail, office, and restaurants while we work through this uncertain time. We are working together for the good of all.
Wisconsin Governor Evers, along with many other States, have issued Emergency Orders that give us direction for the best ways to slow the spread of Corona Virus and flatten the curve of cases that could otherwise overwhelm our health systems. Here is a link to his Emergency Order #5 Prohibiting Mass Gatherings of 10 People or More.
Based on the State guidelines, businesses are practicing social distancing. This is a recommendation of staying 6 feet away from others and avoiding contact. Avoid hand shakes or people that are sick or sneezing.
If you are in the high-risk group, you need to be extra careful. Most of our businesses will come to your car, find a delivery option, or instruct you how to work with them on-line or over the phone. There really are many options for still getting the things you need. Even Alderman John Vander Leest, has offered to help out where needed.
All restaurants must only offer take out food as to not subject a group of more than 10 to gather. They will be very accommodating to your needs as we all want this to work for everyone. Drive-up, pick-up, delivery to your home, are options at most of the Military Avenue restaurants. Hours have been shortened for some, so call ahead.
The Winter Market on Military is looking at a call or email order system for your products. If you need some of your regular market items, email us at Director@MilitaryAve.org or call 920-544-9503 to place an order. The details are still being worked out for a drive-through market pick up.
The main point is that we are working together for the good of all, and we want to make sure you can relax and know that someone is here to help you get the services and supplies that you need. Look out for your friends and neighbors and always play it safe!

This is the fourth location for the 45 year old, family owned company. The Military Avenue location will feature two large play rooms, one for the big dogs and one for small dogs. Grooming services are also offered. The Fun Camp for Dogs will be held in this new location where “Pets are Family”.
Bring your pet, with proof of shots, on a lead or comfy crate, to the open house and participate in the free nail trimming or behavioral assessment for potential Fun Camp for Dogs attendance. You can purchase a treat from the pet bake sale. Proceeds from the bake sale will benefit the Green Bay Campus of the Wisconsin Humane Society.
Kids are welcome, too! Free pet and valentines crafts plus fun games for the kids will be available. Grab a goodie bag for your pet while they last.
A fourth location on Military Avenue will house two large pet play areas, one for little pups and one for the big dogs. A grooming station is also in the works.
Golrusk Pet Care Center has a philosophy that “Pets are Family!”
For 45 years the Grosskopf Family and Golrusk Pet Care Center have been an industry leader in pet care for the Green Bay area. In 2012, Ken and Jan’s daughter Tera and her family took over the Golrusk Pet Care Center family business and just opened this beautiful west side play area.
Call them to schedule a visit! Your pet will thank you!
The Green Bay Police K9 unit talked to market goers at the August 15th special Dog Days of Summer event at the Market on Military.
It was a great thrill to see both Drago and Pyro preform with their handlers and some were especially excited to see Pyro. After being stabbed by a bad guy this spring, Pyro looked great and there was no sign that his wounds slowed him down.
Pyro is a Belgian Malinois that was born in the Netherlands. His handler is Officer Scott Salzmann. Pyro lives with Officer Salzmann and his family when he is not working for the Green Bay Police Department.
Drago is a Belgian Malinois/German Shephard that was born in Hungary. His handler is Officer Jeff Brann and Drago lives with Officer Brann and his family when he is not on the job.
Both dogs are trained in suspect apprehension, tracking and narcotics detection. Pyro also has experience and training in handler protection and article searches.
Join us this week for the Dog Days of Summer at the Market on Military.
Military Avenue is full of great pet services, products and food. Coming soon is a doggie daycare! Find more information at the special Market day. Plus all of our great vendors will be there with peak season produce. You can even find apples and mums, just getting ready for fall.
The Market on Military will start this Thursday! June 6th.
Stop by the Market on Military in the GB Plaza parking lot from 3-7 each Thursday this summer. (Near Sears) Our 4th year will feature most of our tried and true vendors and many new ones.
It feels like we have had spring for a while, now we can get some of the great spring produce. It is peak season for asparagus and rhubarb!
One of the many new vendors this year is CC’s Sweet Treats. For those of you with a sweet tooth, they have you covered. Deep fried Twinkies, Oreos, peanut butter cups, and candy bars plus funnel cakes will satisfy your craving. Their food truck also has some Wisconsin favorites – deep fried cheese curds, jumbo pretzels w/cheese, nachos w/cheese and corn dogs. Christie comes from Luxemburg, WI with lots of sweet treats and cheese.
Many new crafters and our regulars will be rotating into the mix of vendors. The Ness husband and wife team is talented in wood working. They have beautiful bird houses, benches, and themed scarecrows. Paula’s Two Danes Bakery is back and is always a hit with our four legged customers. We are dog friendly if your dog is friendly. Two human bakeries are also attending this year.
Each week we have a youth project. This Thursday, June 6th, kids can plant a seed, take it home, and watch it grow over the summer. Maybe they will want to grow their own food someday and this project will help them understand how it works.
Here is some of what you will find at the Market on Military:
Meat, eggs, fresh seasonal produce, prepared veggies, jams and jellies, pickles, honey, plants, flowers, apples, bakery, breads, pet food, pet supplies, Kettle Corn, Sweet Treats, BBQ food trucks, jewelry, arts and crafts.
