As we start our 4th year of the Business Improvement District, the Green Bay Press Gazette’s Jeff Bollier sat down with us at Starbucks to discuss what we hoped to see this coming year, 2018. Here is a link to that article.
With the announcement of Sears closing, the gap in our business center will force a big change since the long time anchor’s opening in the late 1960’s. The Sears property and the Green Bay Plaza were under separate ownership. New owners purchased both parcels in December.
Erinn Taylor, from WFRV Channel 5, talked with us at the office. Her and the cameraman also went around the district and chatted with Dan at Chili John’s a GB Plaza customer. Here is a link.
We would love to hear ideas from you about what you want to see in this area. The new owners of the Plaza area are open to working with local, and not just corporate businesses. Military Avenue has always been a great district to start a business and let it grow and expand. Some of our great first’s are H.J. Martin and Son’s and Shopko. Both have grown to become large employers in the region and retain their presence on Military Avenue.
You can find an available property Google Map on our website that lists rental and for-sale property. We are home to a diverse and unique mix of retail, office, and restaurants. On Military Avenue, you can shop the best off-price retail stores and find the best all-day breakfast places in town.
Events are one way for us to drive traffic here and discover our area. Currently we host a very accessible summer farmers market and Music on Military event in the fall. What events would you want to attend? We like to work with the neighborhood associations and rely on volunteers to staff our events.
If you would like to share your ideas with us, we would be happy to hear them! You can contact Leah at 920-544-9503 or Director@militaryave.org.
