Affordable Auto Care and Accessory

Welcome Zach Szymik, the new owner of 712 S Military Avenue.

It may be a strange time to open a business but car repair never stops. (dang it!) In fact, this could be the perfect time to get that work done that you have been putting off. You’re driving less and have more time to focus on maintenance.

Zach took over the former Naniot’s Auto Service after Bob retired in March 2020. He is no stranger to the automobile business. He also owns a car lot and auto repair on the east side of Green Bay.

The ole’ guys are still in the shop on Military and waiting for you to stop by. A new phone number may have confused a few people. Try 920-857-1008 to set up an appointment! Zach also plans a face lift for the shop.

A New PlaGrnd in the GB Plaza

The PlaGrnd urban clothing store is one of the first in the area.

Located at 1489 W Mason Street in the Green Bay Plaza and on-line

Are you looking for something unique? PlaGrnd has premium clothing at great prices. It will be hard to chose from the fun designs and colors.

PlaGrnd is a colorful clothing store that recently opened a location in the Green Bay Plaza and also has an online store.

They carry a variety of high quality, boutique clothing for men and boys. The street-ware styles are popular with the young urbanites and cutting edge, fashion conscience people. The store owner, Synika, plans to add to the collection as he gets more established.

“No other store carries these jeans.” Synika said, referring to the distressed, dyed, and funked up denim. Jeans run from $65 to $125, which is a steal for this style. If you talk to him, he can make a deal with you to get a complete new wardrobe. He is very knowledgeable about what is available and can customize it just for you.

PlaGrnd also has local art for sale. Prints, originals and stickers by local artists are part of the decor and the merchandise. Even some of the clothing is designed by local clothing designers.

They are currently open from 11-8 PM at 1489 W Mason, near Papa Murphys. Stop by to see them! Plagrndclothing.com

New Year – New You, Tea and Spa

Treat yourself in 2019!

The new QTea Premium Tea House and Sense Spa is now open!

The transformation of a traditional building (former auto repair) to a zen-like spa is done and it is spectacular!

From the beautiful glass walls outside to the relaxing interior, they created a true jem! The multifaceted business has a “treat” in store for all of your senses. Let me take you on a short tour.

Moon Gate

Enter the Tea Room.

The “moon gate” is traditional in Vietnam. Walk through for love, happiness, and good fortune! Past the gateway you will be in a lovely, modern tea room with a huge assortment of teas and “by the pound” frozen yogurt (coming this summer). The rippled, disposable cups are a tactile experience with consideration of the environment.

I had a traditional Vietnamese coffee that was on the opposite side of bitter. Mellow and flavorful and definitely on my list of favorites.

Tea sets and supplies are also for sale. They display one glass pot that you can fill from the top, empty from the bottom, and reuse the teaspoon of dry tea three times before refilling. That is getting the most from your tea experience or just let them make it for you. Each flavor and type brings a unique taste experience either hot or cold, bubble tea or dry tea. A reward program will get you a deal on the 10th.

Loose tea flavors for you to smell, order and then sip and enjoy.

Several flavors of frozen yogurt including green tea, black tea and of course chocolate and vanilla are on “by the ounce” sale.

Hammer and Nails Spa

Move to the Hammer and Nails section of the spa for a private retreat with a neutral, earthy flair. This space can be used as a private spa party location. A TV is on the way for the ultimate GB football watching pedicure. Down the hallway are more private and couple rooms for massage and esthetician services. Each room is tranquil, clean and relaxing.

Salt room

Breath in the Himalayan Salt Room

Then, the big surprize! A Himalayan salt ROOM. The wall of the room is stacked with bricks of Himalayan salt, zero gravity chairs and blankets. After standing in the room for five minutes, I could feel my breathing become clearer. Licking my lips, I could taste the salt in the air. This is on my friend list for places to go. A 45 minute retreat in this room is just what I need for my 2019 pleasure tasks.

Steam Room and Lockers

Just past the salt room is a mens and womens locker and steam room. A few minutes in the steam shower and then into the salt room would be a perfect sense awakening experience. They may need to wake you when your time is up because you can become that relaxed.

End at the Mani Pedi Room

Around the corner is the main salon with several chairs for manicures and pedicures. The circles and calm interior decor continues through this room. There has been no lack of detail in each design decision and lighting choice, and it shows.

New Owner of Liberty Tax

Welcome to the new owner of Liberty Tax in the Beacon Center.

You won’t see Lisa Willi or her daughters doing other community things for a while since this is the busy season for taxes. As a new owner of Liberty Tax 609 S Military Avenue, just behind Starbucks, she is knee deep in taxes.  Other than this time of the year, they all participate in numerous community volunteer opportunities, including helping out at our Market on Military.

You will, however, see a familiar face jaming and playing air guitar on the busiest corner in Green Bay, West Mason and Military Avenue. He has been doing this for years and loves it. Lisa lets him and others hop into the store to warm up whenever they need it.

Lisa may look familiar as she worked at Liberty Tax for many years and is a long time Green Bay resident with her husband, two daughters and a son. They, and her dad, all helped her at the grand opening in January of this year.

“I love taxes,” said Lisa. That is a rare statement but true for her. You can contact Lisa at Liberty Tax at 920-405-9801.
