Last Winter Market on Military Events

Learn how to MAKE one of these! NO Sewing needed.

The last indoor Market on Military is this Sunday, June 28th. Bring a T of your own to try.

Tanya will be a special guest at the Market on Military this week. Come to see her “no sew” market bags.
Tanya is amazingly talented! You have to see her cooking and creating skills! She plans to be a regular at the outdoor market too. #TanyaEland

Tarl Knight and John Gore at the Market

Tarl Knight will perform as well as our favorite “Willy” John Gore.

Every week our market changes! Come discover what LOCAL means at this time of the year.

The fall produce is dwindling down, and the spring products are just starting. A few vendors have had spring greens and maple syrup which are both good producers in the spring. Fresh cheese, meats, eggs and bread are always in season at the winter, indoor Market on Military.

Lots of crafters and creators have displays of their work. Pets are well represented with bakery  treats and bones from Two Spoiled Danes and Mit Liebe German Shepherd Rescue.

New winter market vendors

Every week is different at the winter Market on Military!

This week we will have NEW VENDORS as well as our traditional vendors. The market is transitioning as produce becomes less and less and early spring crops come nearer, the crafters and other creators are itching to get out and show their wares. After a long winter of production, there is a lot to love.

Red Canna’s in our climate

One new vendor this week is Eileen. She will be selling her local red canna and gladioli bulbs. If you have tried to save your own, you know what tricky work this is! She saved you the time.

RED CANNA BULBS

The red canna is tall and beautiful and it was the subject of one of Georiga O’keeffe’s famous paintings.  Eileen can tell you how to plant them and the perfect conditions to make them the 6-8 foot highlight of your garden.

GLADIOLI BULBS

Gladioli is another old-time favorite and subject for van Gogh. My friend could made dolls out of the flowers like her grandmother taught her. “Glads” offer beautiful color and are great cut flowers for arrangements.

Glads are an easy growing flower that come in a rainbow of colors. Stagger your plantings for continuous summer blooms.

This Sunday, March 26th at the Market on Military. 512 S MIlitary Avenue, 11-3 PM next door to Chili Johns. Find bulbs, cheese, bread, meat, eggs, crafts, jewelry, maple syrup, popcorn, onions, potatoes, garlic, art, and more!

Each market will have a unique set of vendors along with our “popular regulars” that feature produce, meat, eggs, honey, soaps and crafts. For the pre Christmas markets, we will allow a few rep products and more crafts.

GBPD Horses at the Market on Military

photoma8reThe new Green Bay Police Department horse team was “practicing” being in public at the market last week. And, they may come back to the Market on Military as the new team is in training for a unique method of policing in our community.

According to a Green Bay Press Gazette article (Sept. 6, 2016), Police Chief Andrew Smith said “I guarantee people are going to come out of their houses, they’re going to come up and want to pet the horse and want to shake hands and talk to the officers,” Smith said. “It’s a great way to break the ice with the community.”

If the program is successful, they could become a permanent part of the department next year. So far, it’s a winner for the shoppers at our Market on Military.
